This week's Open workout brought a test of both strength and skill by repeating an Open workout from 2016, which combined toes-to-bar, double-unders, and progressively heavier squat cleans.  Again, this workout reminded athletes of the importance of honing our double-unders core strength, and Olympic lifts .  Let's see who came out on top after week 2.

This week brought a workout that was...well, let's face it, unless you're me (I dream in double-unders)...pretty miserable. I know that for many of you, it was quite frustrating, defeating, and demoralizing. Double-unders can be frustrating, as well as taxing cardiovascularly. Overhead squats test one's mobility in more than one area, and muscle-ups...oh, the ever coveted ring-muscle-up....they can definitely disappoint after...

Yesterday, concluded week one of the 2018 Open! Now, that wasn't so bad, was it??!

Overall, Shoreline Athletics has a total of 79 athletes registered for The Open. I think this is impressive in itself. So, thank you to all who registered. You will better yourselves and the community over the next few weeks.
